What you can do
with Salon Zukan, screen by screen
From your website, online booking and booking calendar to the member app for your customers. The basics are free. All screens are from a sample salon.
Your salon website
If your salon is listed, pick it and start with your address, hours and other details already filled in.
- Photos, menu and prices, staff, hours and a map on one page
- Built for phones, with the Book button always on screen
- Your own address (e.g. your-salon.salon-zukan.com), linked from your Salon Zukan listing
Online booking
Customers just pick a service, stylist and time. Only open times are shown, so bookings never overlap.
- Open times are worked out from staff hours and service length
- You get an email for each booking, and the customer gets a confirmation
- After booking, customers go straight back to your page
- No per-booking fees. You can also limit booking to members
Menu and staff sync both ways with booking
The Salon Zukan editor and the booking system (CLT Members) share one menu and one staff list. Add, edit or remove in either one, and the other — plus your page and the booking screen — follows. No double entry.
- Menu name, length, price, description and order, and staff name, title and order all carry over
- Saving in Salon Zukan updates the booking system right away. Changes made in the booking system show in the editor at once and on your page within about 2 minutes
- New staff added in Salon Zukan get your opening hours as working hours, so they can take bookings right away (adjust later in the booking system)
- Removing a service or stylist keeps past booking records intact
Contact form
Your page comes with a contact form. We email you when a message arrives, and you read and reply in My page.
- You get an email at the address you signed up with
- Reply from “Messages” in My page — the customer gets it by email, in your salon's name
- Customers write back on the page linked in the email, and the whole conversation stays together in My page
- Spam is filtered out without a notice, and you can turn the form off any time
The customer app and member page
Customers join free with just a name and email, then manage their bookings in the CLT Members app for iPhone and Android, or on the web.
- See and cancel bookings (up to the salon's deadline). On the member page they can also change the date, service or stylist
- Show the member card (QR code) at the front desk — no paper card
- Booking confirmations, day-before reminders and salon news arrive as app notifications (you choose which)
- Sign-in is a 6-digit code sent by email — no password
The app is called “CLT Members”. On a computer, scan a QR code with your phone's camera to open the download page.
Chat with members
Exchange messages, photos and documents with your members. It appears only when you turn it on (Settings → General in the dashboard).
- Members write from “Chat” in the app or member page, to the staff you choose as the contact
- Your replies reach the member as an app notification (no email)
- Reply from the dashboard chat — a notice pops up at the bottom right on any screen
- Photos, PDFs and other files can be sent too (up to 20 MB each)
Booking calendar
See every booking in a staff-by-time day view and a calendar.
- Switch between list, calendar and day views — the staff-by-time grid shows the whole day at a glance
- Add phone bookings with “Add booking”
- Record visits, no-shows and cancellations in one tap, with sales totals
Customer list and news
See your member customers and their visit history in your dashboard.
- Search by name, member number or email. Export and import with CSV
- Send offers and closure notices to members by app notification and email
AI help assistant
Not sure how to do something? Ask the AI in the dashboard chat.
- Ask in plain words, like “Where do I add a stylist's day off?”, and it walks you through it
- Answers come from the user guide, and it says so when it doesn't know. Customer data is never sent to the AI
Add-on apps
Add only what you need, each with its own monthly fee. Every add-on has a 14-day free trial, and you can stop any time.
$20 a month each(¥2,980 a month for salons in Japan)
Salon set
$29 a month$60 one by one (salons in Japan: ¥3,980, or ¥8,940 one by one)
Card on file & cancellation fees, punch cards and gift cards together for one monthly price — fewer no-shows, more repeat visits and more money up front.
- Sign up under “Add or stop apps” in CLT Members. Any of these you already pay for one by one stop when you switch, and the unused days come off your next bill
- Salon booking (online booking and the booking calendar) stays free with or without the set
- In Japan, punch cards and gift cards valid for more than 6 months are prepaid payment instruments under the Payment Services Act; a filing is needed if the unused balance tops ¥10 million at the end of March or September, so the screens show your unused balance
Card on file & cancellation fees Salon set
Keep a customer's card on file when they book, and charge same-day cancellation or no-show fees at the rates you set — with one tap in the bookings screen or automatically. Just connect Stripe or Square; card numbers never touch your server.
Punch cards Salon set
Sell cards like a 10-visit cut card or a 5-visit head spa card, with the number of visits, price, validity and the services they cover (you can also set how many visits each service uses, e.g. 2 for cut + color). Issue them at the front desk, or let members buy online by card and use them right away. Customers pick the card when they book, and a visit is taken off automatically when you mark the booking done. This month's sales and the unused balance are shown too.
Gift cards Salon set
Gift cards that customers buy online and send by email (on a date they choose), and prepaid balances spent by amount (e.g. pay ¥30,000, get ¥33,000). Sell them at the front desk too, and take payments from the balance at checkout. Recipients can check the balance on their card page. Online sales go straight to your own Stripe or Square account.
Time clock
Clock-in and clock-out, shifts, time-off and overtime requests with approval, and period totals. A shop tablet can serve as the time clock.
Custom domain
Show your page on your own domain (e.g. www.your-salon.com). Change one DNS setting and we take care of the https certificate. How to set it up ↓
Setting up a custom domain (DNS)
- Add “Custom domain” under “Add or stop apps” in CLT Members (monthly)
- In My page, open your salon → “Custom domain” and enter the domain (e.g. www.your-salon.com)
- In your domain provider's DNS settings, add the one record below
- We check every 5 minutes and set up the https certificate once it points to us (a few minutes to an hour). It's done when it says “Active”
| Type | Name (host) | Value (target) |
|---|---|---|
| CNAME | www | sites.salon-zukan.com |
- For a root domain (your-salon.com) it's an A record instead — the value is shown on the settings screen
- Leave email (MX) and your other DNS records as they are
- Once it's active, your old address (….salon-zukan.com) automatically forwards to the new domain
Start by previewing your own salon
If your salon is listed, just enter its name and see your page right away. All you need to sign up is an email address.
